Strokes Gained

Tour level stats
for every golfer

Our mission is to help golfers continually improve and enjoy the game we love, and a big part of enjoying the game more is shooting lower scores. That is why we have brought tour level Strokes Gained statistics to every golfer that owns a Shot Scope performance tracking product.

Find out exactly where you are losing strokes during your round, or over the season by analysing your stats. Then you can leverage the data and focus on improving the areas of your game that need the most attention.

How Strokes Gained
actually works?

With every shot you hit on the golf course we collect two data points, where the ball starts, and where the ball ends, taking into consideration lie type and distance. We then use this data to give each shot a Strokes Gained (SG) value.

A positive SG value means you gained against your benchmark, whereas a negative one means you lost against your benchmark. For example, a tee shot landing on the fairway could have an SG value of 0.21, whereas a tee shot ending in the fairway bunker could have an SG value of -0.43.

Compare against
your target HCP

Watching the PGA Tour professionals hit green after green, can make it hard to keep perspective and set realistic goals. With Shot Scope, golfers can set a handicap benchmark, allowing them to compare their own game against their target handicap.
